About Grateful Dead Live Remastered

The goal of this channel is to take as much of the live Grateful Dead music and remaster it so that it has a deeper and more rounded sound. There was a large chasm for the Dead between their live shows and studio work, where something was given up to gain something else. Jerry even said, in an interview, "Studio work was like building a ship in a bottle, and playing live on stage was like being on the ocean in a rowboat." They were not the same; what was gained in the studio were perfected versions but lacked the spirit and energy of the live shows, and what was gained on stage was an amazingly vast spirit but lacked sound quality. The aim of this channel is to find live stage moments and clean them up the best I can to as close to "studio quality" as possible.

The goal is not absolute perfection . . . but to capture the amazing spirit of those musical moments.

Enjoy!

The page combines cached API data and fast refresh polling to stay responsive while still tracking changes closely. Exact public YouTube counts can lag, but the page updates far more frequently than the default channel view.

The chart appends new subscriber readings every few seconds. That gives you a rolling growth trace instead of a static count snapshot.
