About New Smyrna Museum of History

The New Smyrna Museum of History is dedicated to preserving the history of Southeast Volusia County Florida. As the 3rd oldest settled community in the State of Florida, the city of New Smyrna Beach in SE Volusia County is tied directly to Florida's British Colonial History and the early development of our state. Content available features museum programming related to the history of our area, military history related to work with the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project, video content sharing information on archaeology. The New Smyrna Museum of History is the educational outreach component of the Southeast Volusia Historical Society. It houses museum gallery, Research Library and Archaeology Research Center.
