Stamatelatos Dimitris

Dimitris Stamatelatos is a classically trained pianist and a modern classical and film music influenced composer.

He studied at the Royal College of Music in London, where he got his masters degree in Music and piano performance.

As a classical pianist he has received several awards in international chamber music competitions and has collaborated with all the major Greek Symphony Orchestras performing piano concertos in prestigious concert halls.

As a composer he is influenced by the minimalism of E. Satie and by screen composers like Bernard Herrmann and Ennio Morricone.

His compositions mainly consist of piano, chamber music and orchestral works, with a modern feel, resembling film music. The mood is melancholic, nostalgic, mysterious and sometimes romantic and dreamy.

Some of his works have been embodied in short films in Greece, Turkey and United Kingdom.
