YOUNG ROMA MUSIC BAND FROM PLEMETINA "JIMMY BAND"

Band Profile

"Jimmy Band" was gathered in 2009, six young Roma people form

Plemetina joined their talents to make a different genre of Roma and

other style of music. Band plays traditional Roma, but beside that it

plays a different genres of music too. Members of the band are. Band

plays at the roma parties in Plemetina and other places such as

Priluzije, Gracanica etc.

1. Djemal Mustafa, guitar player and head of the band. Beside the

guitar Djemal plays a piano, drums, clarinet, a little bit of violin.

Djemal started to play music instruments from a very young age and he

is dedicated to music almost all of his time.

Faton Alija, playes drums, he bought his first "tarabuka" at the age

of 12 and he played with another Roma band from Plemetina who is

playing only traditional roma music. Beside traditional music, Faton

wanted more and various genres of music and together with Djemal they

made some of the first moves of gathering a band.
