About 2025 Sagaing Earthquake Archive

​On March 28, 2025, a powerful magnitude 7.7 - 7.9 earthquake struck central Myanmar in the Sagaing Region, close to Mandalay, at approximately 12:50 p.m. local time. The quake, occurring at a shallow depth of 10 km, caused intense shaking felt all across Myanmar. It was also felt widely in neighboring countries; like Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Southern China, Bangladesh and Eastern India.

It's the worst earthquake since the 2023 Türkiye - Syria event
