Welcome to my channel. I’m Caroline Strawson & I survived domestic abuse & coercive control at the hands of a covert narcissist. I didn’t know I’d been in an abusive relationship because there were no visible bruises but invisible doesn’t mean imagined.

I was at rock bottom. CPTSD, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, self harm. Non alcoholic fatty liver disease, IBS, metabolic syndrome, chronic fatigue. Eleven diagnoses. Let down by a medical system that never once asked what I’d lived through.

I could have trained as a psychologist, but talking about my experiences didn’t help me process them. Trauma lives in the body. Physiology overrides psychology, every single time.

So I retrained in somatic based modalities, including Somatic Experiencing, IFS and EMDR, alongside a postgraduate certificate in applied positive psychology.
