“Anuprastha” the name meaning “Starting tune” or “Music first” is a Nepali rock band established in 2004. Niran Shahi (vocalist & guitarist), Jimi Joshi (bass), Govin Sunuwar (guitar), Bibek Tamang (drums) and Sundar Maharjan (madal/percussion) are the founding members. Niran, Jimi and Govin grew together as musicians performing in college events, farewell parties and a strong sense of creating a team that would unite and ignite the music was always a motivating element but yet to be polished and discovered back then. In the year 2008, the “sprite band challenge” opened the golden doors to success.Their triumph soon had the air fragranced with their music, especially “Din”.
