Born in Kyoto, Japan.

Raised in an historic town, surrounded by Japanese culture;

He became interested in studying Japanese culture at an early age 

Learned Shinto based philosophy at age 12 and began studying and playing Japanese “Taiko” drum

Began intensive studies into Japanese culture at age 20, taking lessons about the tea ceremony at the Kankyu-an school and other traditions.
