SMFR is an Internationally Accredited, ISO Class 1 Fire Rescue Protection District protecting 287 square miles of the south metro Denver, Colorado area. This area includes portions of Arapahoe, Douglas, and Jefferson Counties, including Bow Mar, Castle Pines, Columbine Valley, Cherry Hills Village, Foxfield, Greenwood Village, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Lone Tree, Louvires, and Parker. SMFR is a career fire and rescue agency with 30 Stations overseen daily by 1 District Chief, 5 Battalion Chiefs, 2 Safety Officers, and 2 EMS Supervisors (MED). There are 23 Engines, 6 Aerials (4 Towers and 2 Ladders), 19 ALS Medic Units, 6 Tenders, 15 Brush Trucks, 3 ARFF Trucks, 2 Water Rescue/Dive Units, 2 Hazmat Units, 1 Collapse Rescue, and multiple other support vehicles, including a foam unit and a large area ventilation fan.
