“I come from a place you can’t have no feelings…”

Over the past few years in Hip Hop, Chicago has become a city synonymous with ‘Drill Music’ and violence but that doesn’t mean every young artist subscribes to that. A self-proclaimed loner, SOLOCELO initially caught fans ears (and eyes) from a string of viral videos of his early songs full of youthful bravado. Now a few years wiser, the 25 year old is looking to solidify his place among the Windy City’s current rap landscape while also trying to find himself at the same time, which is documented in SOLO’s latest release Departures. “It’s called Departures because in a lot of ways, I’ve re-imagined myself since my last project. The title speaks on growing up, moving forward and leaving some of myself in the past.”
