The Hon David Fawcett was a Liberal Senator for South Australia (2011 - 2025), Assistant Minister for Defence in the 45th Parliament, Chair of the Australian Parliament's Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade and long serving member of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security.

He previously served as the Member for Wakefield in the Australian Parliament following a 22 year military career as an experimental test pilot and Commanding Officer of the Aircraft Research and Development Unit.
