About Henrique Cazes

Henrique Cazes é cavaquinista, professor de cavaquinho na Habilitação em Cavaquinho da Escola de Música da UFRJ, compositor, produtor musical e arranjador e pesquisador da música brasileira.

Desde 1976 exerce atividade como instrumentista de cordas no cavaquinho, violão, banjo, viola caipira, violão tenor e guitarra elétrica. Participou do grupo Coisas Nossas, dedicado à divulgação da obra de Noel Rosa e do renomado conjunto Camerata Carioca.

Como pesquisador na área de Choro, publicou o livro "Choro do Quintal ao Municipal" (Editora 34/1998). Criou o Método "Escola Moderna do Cavaquinho" (Lumiar/1988) e lançou a coleção de partituras Música Nova para Cavaquinho (Irmãos Vitale/2019). Mestre e Doutor pela Escola de Música da UFRJ.
