The Academy Is… return with Almost There nearly twenty years after their debut Almost Here helped shape an underground generation. The Chicago band, William Beckett, Mike Carden, Adam Siska, and Andy Mrotek, reunite with a record about time, distance, and unfinished dreams. Formed during rehearsals in 2023, the album reflects on growing older, finding your way back, and moving forward while honoring the past.

“Almost Here was the beginning. Almost There is the reflection,” Beckett says. “It’s about checking in with who you thought you’d be twenty years later, seeing what changed, what stuck, and what still feels like home.”

Almost There will be out on March 27th via I Surrender Records.
