Mr. Engineer

As engineers, we were going to be in a position to change the world – not just study it. Strive for perfection in everything you do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it.

Aero planes are not designed by science, but by art in spite of some pretense and humbug to the contrary. I do not mean to suggest that engineering can do without science, on the contrary, it stands on scientific foundations, but there is a big gap between scientific research and the engineering product which has to be bridged by the art of the engineer.
