Baby Kia, born K’Hari Hoard, never planned on being in the spotlight. Raised in Atlanta’s Fulton County at Capitol Homes, he later moved to the historic Cleveland Avenue area at age 8—an area known for producing artists like Young Thug and Lil Keed. Basketball kept him busy growing up, but music was always in the background.

Artists like YoungBoy Never Broke Again shaped his early listening habits, while his parents introduced him to legends such as DMX, Juvenile, Mystikal, and Busta Rhymes. Much of that music was played in his father’s car and helped form his taste.

School was never easy for Kia. He often struggled to stay focused, something that worsened after a life-changing moment at 14 years old when he discovered his mother had passed away. That loss pushed him deeper into music as an outlet.

At 16, he first experimented with recording after his younger brother used his phone to make music on BandLab. Curious, Kia tried it himself and recorded a song at a friend’s home studio. But at the time, he stepped away from music while trying to figure out how to make money and navigate life in the streets.

In 2022, his friend Will encouraged him to return to the studio. Kia began learning ProTools, building a catalog, and refining his sound. In April 2023, he independently released his debut EP “Kia World” through UnitedMasters, marking the official start of his rise.
