About DJ Aphrodite

DJ Aphrodite or Just Aphrodite is at the head of Aphrodite Recordings. Popularly known as one of the godfathers of Drum&Bass.

Alongside and with DJ Micky Finn is also part of Urban Takeover. Also known as A Zone, DJ Aphro, Amazon II, Amazon 2 (initially with Tony B), Amix and Aladdin (initially with QED) is a UK jungle / drum and bass DJ/producer. One of the founding members of the Drum and Bass scene. he largely contributed to and influenced the genre's current styles, basslines, drums and techniques. The name DJ Aphrodite was inspired by an Acid House club night he co-ran in 1988 called 'Aphrodite'. His debut album was the self-titled Aphrodite album released by Aphrodite Recordings then signed and re-released on V2 Recordings, The follow-ups was Aftershock which was again released under V2 Recordings on 24 June 2002, then Break In Reality was released in the USA only in 2008. The many DJ-Mix albums include Urban Jungle, Urban Junglist, Overdrive, Takeover Bid.
