About Thundercat

Thundercat is the virtuoso bassist & singer Stephen Bruner, a mercurial talent and multi-GRAMMY award winner.

In 2023, Thundercat linked with Tame Impala releasing “No More Lies,”. A musical match made in heaven, the duo of Bruner and Parker is an electrifying union.

Thundercat’s 2020 album, It Is What It Is, won the GRAMMY for Best Progressive R&B Album, and features Ty Dolla $ign, Childish Gambino, Lil B, Kamasi Washington, Steve Lacy, Steve Arrington, BADBADNOTGOOD, and more. It was co-produced by Thundercat and longtime friend and musical partner Flying Lotus.

Previous releases include The Golden Age of Apocalypse (2011), Apocalypse (2013), EP The Beyond / Where The Giants Roam featuring the classic "Them Changes" & Drunk (2017).

Thundercat has collaborated with Gorillaz, Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars & Anderson Paak), HAIM, H.E.R., KAYTRANADA, Kenny Beats, and JID, as well as contributing original songs for film & TV including Yasuke, Insecure and MINIONS: The Rise of Gru.
