Dr. Jen Stevane

Dr. Stevane started Integrative Surgical Care when she realized how much the patient as a WHOLE was going through during surgery and that so few doctors in the field of surgery address this. Surgeons of all types are hyper-focused on how surgery will cure the disease or injury and on getting the patient through surgical recovery. Surgeons do not consider how the disease and surgery affect sleep, oral and gut microbiome, relationships at home and work, anxiety levels, etc. Western surgeons do not consider how the incision might cross energy pathways, how the instruments we use to complete surgery can affect the body beyond the length of the incision, or how the patient lying in the same position for hours at a time affects them as a WHOLE. Until now. Dr. Stevane believes that the best surgical patient care is using her western-based surgical knowledge and training in combination with the principles and treatments of functional medicine, eastern medicine, and holistic medicine.
