I always had a fascination with the natural world, science, and art. When I happily focused on these subjects in college, I started studying biology but pivoted to one bachelor’s degree in physics, and another in fine arts with a painting concentration plus art history minor. After quitting grad school and becoming a parent, I needed a creative hobby that would conform to my new life's constraints. My former medium of painting was no longer an option. In 2007, a friend introduced me to his aunt’s bead store, Beads East, and I quickly fell in love with the art form. I found a new creative outlet in designing beaded jewelry, and started my own business in 2010. I now travel all over the world, sharing my love of beading through project workshops and sell kits, patterns, and supplies to other happy beaders through my website.
