Welcome to Mama Wants to Build where I’m saving money by building things around my house myself. Coming from zero experience (or help from others for that matter) I’m just figuring things out and learning along the way. My goal is to achieve affordable solutions vs. retail cost or hired help.

Follow along these quick and easy to follow videos as I complete these projects all by myself! If I can inspire just one person then it’s worth it!

Building things myself not only ensures it’s made in America, but it’s also extremely cost effective, and it’s safe for my family!! When choosing materials I carefully select formaldehyde-free and non-toxic options whenever possible.

I have only a small supply of tools (it all started with a hammer, a sanding sponge, and a drill!). My car is small, so most projects I arrive at my local home improvement store with a "shopping list" and a "cut list" in hand relying on them for wood cuts!
