About dekoningtan
We tell stories through our #video-game / #ambient / #cinematic #electronic #folk music. Dekoningtan was born when we (Verity Tan and Gersom de Koning) met in school in Bangkok, where we debuted a song at our high school talent show with one voice and beat-boxing to create a melody. We have played music together since 2007, but we decided to properly combine our talents as a duo in 2010.
So far we've lived in Thailand, Singapore, the Netherlands, England, and now we are back in Thailand!
We are using Propellerhead's Reason Essentials (fantastic DAW) and Audacity (free audio editing program) for audio. We use a Nektar Keyboard, Alesis Percpad, M-Audio BX8 monitors, Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphones, an AT2020 mic, a Shure SM57 mic-- as well as Gersom's electric guitar Ce'Nedra (London City guitar) with burns mini tri-sonic pickups and a Maestro (Singapore brand) guitar for acoustic.
