Basit Mir, known as Econ, is a rapper, producer, rock artist, and sound engineer from Srinagar, Kashmir. Passionate about music from an early age, he discovered hip-hop in his teens and began writing his own lyrics. Using music as a powerful outlet for expression, he released his debut track “Kale Chot” on September 9, 2018. Econ is dedicated to representing his culture, performing in both Kashmiri and Hindi. His work highlights realities often overlooked by society — creating music to give his thoughts a soul.
