Ocean Gate Zen Center

Ocean Gate is a Soto Zen Buddhist Temple in Capitola CA. We are committed to encouraging the integration of Buddhist teaching and practice into everyday life through meditation and Buddhist practice. Guided by the Bodhisattva precepts and teachings of Soto Zen, our aim is to create a compassionate and open environment for all people interested in the study and practice of Buddhism. We offer zazen (meditation), dharma talks, study opportunities, ceremony, and outreach to the wider community. Our teachers are Rev. Daijaku Kinst and Rev. Shinshu Roberts. We are part of the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. Our teachers are registered as International teachers with the Soto Zen school in Japan, as well as members of the Soto Zen Buddhist Association and The American Zen Teachers Association.
