About DMITRII RUSSU

DMITRII RUSSU is an orchestral and choral conductor, pianist and music historian.

Born 1981 in Chisinau, Moldova 🇲🇩, he received his training at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory named after N.A. Rimski-Korsakov, holding master's degree in Choral and Orchestral Conducting.

Dmitrii studied with Professor Alexander Dmitriev and participated in conducting master-classes of Yuri Simonov, Dumitru Goia, Vladimir Ponkin and Victor Yampolsky.

In 2013 he won the 1st Prize at the Ilya Musin National Conducting Competition.

Before moving to the United States in 2019, he was conductor of the Ulyanovsk Symphony Orchestra in Russia (2013-2018).

At the same time, he has appeared with many orchestras within Russia as a guest conductor.

His debut in the US with the Shen Yun Symphony in 2019 included appearances in Carnegie Hall in New York, Boston Symphony and Chicago Symphony Halls, as well as touring around the world.
