「821」は142番目の素数。呼び名は「ハニー」。

ユニットそのものが誰にも割らせない唯一無二なものであり、一人ひとりが個性と言う輝きを発揮する特別な存在になっていけるよう命名されたガールズユニット。

日本全国から毎年数万人の応募がある、日本最大のオーディションのひとつ「ホリプロタレントスカウトキャラバン」により選出されたメンバーによって結成。

2019年3月から集英社『りぼん』にて連載がスタートした少女漫画「きみとゆめみる羊」でメンバーと同名の少女たちがタレントオーディションを通して成長する姿が描かれ、最終話（同年11月30日掲載）のなかでメンバー本人の写真とともに実在の物語であることが初めて明らかになった。

2020年2月28日(金)、デビュー曲となる1stデジタルシングル「WHO」がユニバーサル ミュージックよりリリース。

821 (Honey) is a Japanese girl band formed by 43rd Horipro Talent Scout Caravan and the members consisting of AO, KANNA, REIA, YURINA, RIKO and EMMA.

Horipro Talent Scout Caravan is known to be the biggest new face scouting audition in Japan that the tens of thousands of examinees participate every year. The behind story of their audition was serialized in a girls manga “Kimi To Yumemiru Hitsuji”.

821’s digital debut single "WHO" will be released in February 28, 2020 by Universal Music Japan.
