About ChevroletBowtie
As upcomming spring/summer of 2011, my 1993 Cadillac Deville will be off the road probly until spring of 2012. It is getting fully restored and painted matte black. the interior is fine the way it is soo the only thing getting changed in the interior is the gauge cluster. the digital is going away and to take its place will be a set of Auto Meter Z series gauges. The 4.9l V8 will be a built motor from the ground up. it will be bored to .40 with northstar pistons, comp cams 1.6 rocker arms, pushrods, port and polished heads, copper head gasket, delta cam(grind to mustang spec) true duel glasspack exhaust, a muncie/getrag 5 speed swap, nos, davis unified DUI disty, and more.
If anybody has a Cadillac Deville with a 4.5 or 4.9 and you want to make a lil more hp, read this-
The 4.5 and 4.9 has 0% aftermarket performance support.there are no performance parts for a 4.5 or a 4.9, but parts off other motors will work. fact, that alot of 5.0 mustang parts will fit on the 4.9,not soo much the 4.5 though. if you want a performance distributor you would have to get one for a 1975-1980 Oldsmobile. Oldsmobile motor through that time period share the same firing order 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 and there distributors both rotate counterclockwise. the best performance upgrade for the 4.9 would be to bore your motor .40 to install northstar pistons, thats an extra 10-15 hp
