We are Alyson and Luka: Welcome to our Home!

In October 2023, we used the little money we had to buy this small lumber and limestone cottage in a quiet hillside village in Zasavje, Slovenia. From that moment, we embarked on the biggest challenge of our lives: bring a forgotten piece of history back to life, starting with nothing but our skills, determination and imaginations.

With the help of Luka's dad Ladi, friends and travel volunteers, we are restoring, rebuilding and reimagining this beautiful, unique piece of architecture from the ground up. Using original building methods and modern tools, we are creating a one-of-a-kind home, and resurrecting this little cottage back to the local icon it once was.
