About Cab Calloway - Topic

Nicknamed the "Hi-De-Ho Man" after a line in his trademark 1931 hit "Minnie the Moocher," Calloway’s music often reflected a style with songs that were often written and/or arranged around a specific scat phrase or dance step, as with his chart-topping original "Minnie the Moocher.” Other chart-topping hits include "Saint James Infirmary," "Kicking the Gong Around," "Reefer Man," "I've Got a Right to Sing the Blues," and "The Honeydripper."

Calloway collaborated with an array of notable artists such as, Duke Ellington, Ben Webster, Milt Hinton and Dizzy Gillespie and went along to win multiple awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and induction into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame. His jazz elan and a flamboyant vaudeville stage manner, marked him as the epitome of the jazz age performer.

FAQ

The page combines cached API data and fast refresh polling to stay responsive while still tracking changes closely. Exact public YouTube counts can lag, but the page updates far more frequently than the default channel view.

The chart appends new subscriber readings every few seconds. That gives you a rolling growth trace instead of a static count snapshot.
