About Blushing - Topic
Comprised of two husband and wife teams, Blushing is an Austin, TX based quartet that originated in the summer of 2015 after Michelle Soto (guitar, vocals) shared her songs with long-time friend and classically trained vocalist Christina Carmona (lead vocals, bass). Picking up the bass, Carmona helped to fully flesh out tracks and the two incorporated their spouses Jacob Soto (drums) and Noe Carmona (guitar). Bringing together their combined classic influences from bands like Lush, The Sundays, Cocteau Twins and my bloody valentine, they developed their own sound as it is today. Their debut EP "Tether" was released in 2017 followed by "Weak" in 2018.
Their debut LP "Blushing" was released in 2019 on Wallflower Records. In 2022 they released their sophomore LP "Possessions" and in 2024 they released their third LP "Sugarcoat" on Kanine Records. All albums were produced and engineered by Elliott Frazier of Ringo Deathstarr. Possessions includes the single "Blame" which features Miki Berenyi of Lush on vocals. Sugarcoat includes the single "Seafoam" with former The Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder on lead guitar.
Channeling their high-energy performances and gaining infectious momentum, Blushing have toured extensively and have been asked to play official SXSW showcases, Levitation, Audiotree (Blushing on Audiotree Live), Part Time Punks (Part Time Punks Session)
