About Jay Music - Topic
Jayden Coetzee, known professionally as Jay Music, is a platinum-selling producer and international DJ from Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. Introduced to music at just 10, he immersed himself in FL Studio and Virtual DJ, spending countless hours honing his craft while his peers played outside. By 21 he was performing and producing full-time, leading to his breakthrough in 2022 with “Trip Sessions,” a track that caught the attention of Uncle Waffles, DBN Gogo and Unlimited Soul. His follow-up, “The Fxckin Injury” with Mellow & Sleazy, amassed over six million streams worldwide and achieved platinum status.
Jay Music has pioneered a genre-blending sound he calls DeepGrove, fusing Amapiano with jazz, hip-hop, kwaito, house and gqom. This innovative style shines on his debut EP Deep Grove Vol. 1, which debuted at #5 on Apple Music South Africa. In 2023 he launched his first UK tour, opening doors to shows across Europe and Africa, and between 2024–2025 produced major hits including “Magents (Khululu)” by Mr JazziQ, the “Pikkewyne Remix” by Meneer Cee, “Uyah” by Uncle Waffles & 2wo Bunnies, and “Partii” by Kamo Mphela, Que DJ, Aymos & SpacePose.
Now collaborating with Babes Wodumo on the upcoming single “Sip and See,” Jay Music continues to push boundaries. His forthcoming project Deep Grove Vol. 2, featuring Moonchild Sanelly, Mr JazziQ and more, is set to energise dancefloors worldwide in Spring 2025. With an ever-growing global influence, Jay Music is a legend in the making.
