About Memories of Totalitarianism
The memory of Hollocaust showed and still shows how important the testimonies of survivors are. Each wittness that told his or her story in front of the whole world contributed to form a strong public opinion that rejects antisemitism and nazi totalitarism. The century that ended the year 2000 knew many other kinds of totalitarian political order. All testimony about the politics of fhate, violence and oppression is important for us today. The great Russian dissident, Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, became the most renowned wittness who revealed and condemned the horrifying communist terror in Soviet Union. He collected testimonies from many people, convinced that even very humble human lives bear in themselves unique values.Let us try to continue his work.
