テレビアニメ『機動戦艦ナデシコ』のオープニングテーマ「YOU GET TO BURNING」でデビュー。

その後、朝本浩文氏によるプロデュースで「OTOHA～音波～」「earth song～大地の詩～」「ココロ」の3枚のシングルをリリースし同時に作詞・作曲活動を開始。

アニメ『聖闘士星矢～冥王ハーデス十二宮編～』オープニングテーマ「地球ぎ」／エンディングテーマ「君と同じ青空」にて歌唱の他、作詞・作曲を担当。

同アニメ『聖闘士星矢～冥王ハーデス冥界編～』のエンディングテーマ「託すものへ～My Dear～」をリリースの他、アニメ『サラリーマン金太郎』『ゲートキーパーズ』『ロボティクス・ノーツ DaSH』など数々のアニメ、ゲーム主題歌を担当。

好きなアニソン歌手ランキングで上位に入るなど、そのルックスと感情の機微を繊細に綴る歌声で、今なおアニソン界を牽引する歌姫の一人。南米、中国をはじめ海外でも精力的に活動。

2018年に乳がん摘出手術を受けたことを公表。ブラジルの小児がんセンターへの慰問など、がんへの啓発活動もおこなっている。

2022年9月に松澤由美からデビュー当初使っていた「松澤由実」に改名。

She sang the opening theme song "Chikyugi" and the ending theme song "Kimi to Same Aozora" for the anime "Saint Seiya (Knights of the Zodiac) : The Hades Chapter Sanctuary.", and also wrote lyrics and music.

This is the first time since the beginning of the Saint Seiya series that a female vocalist has sung the theme song. She has many fans not only in Japan but also overseas.

In 2018, she announced that she had breast cancer and also underwent a mastectomy. She has comforted a pediatric cancer center in Brazil, and has also held breast cancer awareness gigs in Japan.
