About Loïc Hobi

Loïc Hobi is a Swiss-French filmmaker born in 1997 in Neuchâtel (CH) where he acquired his passion for cinema attending the local genre film festival; NIFFF. He studied directing at Luc Besson’s film school École de la Cité in France, graduating in 2019 with his short L’Homme Jetée. His filmography includes narrative shorts as well as experimental projects. His coming of age story set in the subway, The Life Underground, premiered at Locarno and was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize. He recently completed Alexx196 & the Pink Sand Beach, a short film reuniting his narrative and experimental skills to tell the story of two young best friends meeting IRL for the first time. He is currently developing his feature film projects internationally, with the aim of telling intimate stories in thrilling contexts to take on the screens he grew up watching.
