Matt F'n Wallace

My name is Matt Wallace. I'm a writer. But before that, for about ten years of my life, I was a professional wrestler working under the names The One Man Riot and later Deacon Riot. They're not wholly different professions, writing and pro-wrestling. Both revolve around storytelling, and both involve more self-inflicted bloodletting than you're probably aware. Anyway. A few posters, pics, and a library of ancient VHS and VHS-C tapes are now all that remain of my past life in the ring. I recently purchased a VHS-to-DVD software kit, conjoined an old VCR to my Mac, and I've been reliving that time. I thought I'd capture and post some clips of my more memorable matches, moments, and opponents. A lot of this stuff occurred at the infamous LIWF Doghouse in Jamaica, Queens, NY, the pro-wrestling school and arena where I had the privilege of training alongside and working matches with some of the best workers of their generation.
