Sant Kabir Das – The Mystic Poet and Spiritual Saint

Sant Kabir Das was a 15th-century Indian mystic poet and saint whose teachings continue to inspire millions across the world. Born in Varanasi, Kabir is regarded as one of the greatest spiritual reformers in Indian history. Though his exact birth details are debated, he is believed to have been raised by a Muslim weaver family, yet his teachings transcended religious boundaries.

Some of his most famous dohas include:

“Dukh Mein Sumiran Sab Kare, Sukh Mein Kare Na Koye,

Jo Sukh Mein Sumiran Kare, Toh Dukh Kahe Ko Hoye.”

This means: Everyone remembers God in sorrow, but none in happiness. If one remembers God even in joy, then sorrow will never come.
