About Imam Navaid Aziz

Navaid Aziz is a Canadian Muslim public figure with a diverse academic and social background. With ancestry from India and Pakistan he was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. His pursuit of Islamic education led him to the illustrious Islamic University of Madinah where he completed an Associate's Degree in the Arabic Language and a Bachelor's in Islamic Law. Upon returning Navaid began teaching for Al-Maghrib Institute, the world's leading English Islamic Institute. In 2012 He accepted the role of Imam and Director of Religious Affairs at the Islamic Information Society of Calgary, a position he holds till this day. In 2019 he completed a diploma in Public Relations and Communications from Mount Royal University, and was appointed Director of Public Relations for AlMaghrib Institute. He has published in the Washington Post, Globe and Mail, and National Post. He has had multiple media appearances across CBC, Global, Vice News, The Calgary Herald, TRT, The Intercept and more.
