He started singing at the age of 6 singing for kaapse klopse and malay choirs at their annual competitions. He currently has over 45 original songs written and performed by himself.
He has 2 Fleur du Cap nominations in the category of “Best supporting actor in a musical production” for his work in the theatre musical productions Aunty Merle: It’s a Girl by Marc Lottering and Danger in the Dark by David Kramer. He also starred in Satin to Sequins and Living Coloured.
Tashreeq also holds 2 Artes awards for Artist of the year 2024 and 2025. This superstar is currently starring in the telenovela on ETV tilted “Kelders Van Geheime” as “Gershwin Solomons”.
