About Kettel - Topic

Kettel is Reimer Eising (born 1982), inhabitant of the city of Groningen in the Netherlands and a trained classical pianist, has been a key figure in the ambient and electronic music scene that emerged from the early 00's.

Along his path starting with his debute on Planet Mu in 2001 have been several releases on the Rotterdam based Clone and his co-owned Sending Orbs label, a label that after its closing can pride itself for leaving a permanent mark on the scene with much loved and sought after albums.

Kettel is well-known for his delicate, playful melodies uniting elements of electronica, classical music, jazz and acid stirred into flawless, memorable compositions with always a unique focus on harmony and counterpoint.

Kettel has frequently toured all over the world with a special notoriety in Japan and the US.

2025 saw the release of the new album Dubio that finds Kettel exploring into a more imperfect and experimental world, released on his newly started Aquatic Ape label.

Outside of his released music, Kettel has put his musical mark on 2 popular videogames with Ibb & Obb (2013) and Park Beyond (2023) and has won several awards as a composer for bespoke music in several media.
